Tarique Rahman is returning to country soon: Mirza Abbas

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is returning to the country soon, said BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas on Sunday.

The senior BNP leader made this comment after Tarique Rahman and 48 other accused were acquitted today in August 21 grenade attack cases. He said this at a programme held at Jatiya Press Club.

"I want to give you some good news on the first day of victory. The verdict in that case has been released today and Tarique Rahman has been acquitted," Mirza Abbas added.

He said, "Tarique Rahman and others have been sentenced in false, wrong and a made-up story. August 21 grenade attack was a planned attack of a foreign group. BNP was never involved in this attack."
