Gano Forum founder and emeritus president Dr Kamal Hossain speaks at the inaugural session of the 7th National Conference of Gano Forum at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh auditorium at Ramna in the capital on Saturday.

Gano Forum founder and emeritus president Dr Kamal Hossain has said it is the moral duty of all political parties and people to provide rational amount of time and extend all-out cooperation to the interim government.

"It's very important to uphold the national consensus which has been developed in this regard," he said, adding that "all democratic-minded political parties, individuals and citizenry should urgently hold a national dialogue to overcome all the crises."
Dr Kamal Hossain made the remarks while speaking at the inaugural session of the 7th National Conference of Gano Forum at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh auditorium at Ramna in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

He also expressed the hope that the leaders and workers of Gano Forum would start a new journey forgetting all their differences in the context of existing situation prevailing in the country.

Dr Kamal also observed that the students and people proved again that Bangladesh didn't belong to any autocratic ruler, rather the country belonged to its people.

Speaking as the chief guest at the conference, BNP Standing Committee leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, "There is no need to think of reforms. We will do our reforms."

He observed that the accomplices of the autocrats started their heinous activities in the country in various ways. "That's why often see protests by Ansar, demonstration by minority communities, or processions by battery-operated autorickshawalas. They have been trying to create instability in the country constantly."

Amir Khasru also laid emphasis on returning to the democratic trend working altogether. "Because of it, we have been extending all-out cooperation to the interim government, and we intend to do that. There is no way to return to the democratic process without peaceful transfer of power to an elected government by the interim government."

The conference was also addressed by foirmer president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim, general secretary of Bangladesh Jasod Nazmul Huque Prodhan and general secretary of Biplobi Workers Party Saiful Huque, among others.
