Shakib's team taste third straight defeat in T10 tournament

Shakib Al Hasan led Bangla Tigers tasted third straight defeat in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament after suffering a seven-wicket defeat to UP Nawabs on Saturday at Abu Dhabi Cricket Ground.

This was their overall fourth defeat in seven matches, which kept them at the second bottom in the point table.

Put into bat first, Bangla Tigers were able to score 87-4 in 10-over allocation with Shakib remaining not out for naught after coming to face the last ball of the innings.
Iftikhar Ahmed was the top-scorer with 15 ball-27. Opener Mohammad Shahzad was not out on 23 after facing 23 balls.

UP Nawabs reached 88-3 to win the match in 8 overs with opener Avishka Fernando making highest 16 ball-36.

Najibullah Zadran confirmed the victory with 19 not out, playing five balls. Shakib bowled two overs and conceded just 12 but went wicket-less.     —BSS
