During a well-timed crackdown on deterring criminal activities, joint forces arrested 12 individuals during a raid in the Geneva Camp area of Dhaka's Mohammadpur on Friday.
The operation was carried out by a combined team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police and army personnel, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Authorities seized a cache of weapons and contraband during the raid, including one revolver, eight rounds of ammunition, five machetes, and seven sharp-edged weapons. The operation aimed to dismantle criminal networks operating in the area.
The arrested individuals, including Mahbub and Irfan, close associates of notorious drug trafficker Chua Selim, were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station for further legal action, the ISPR statement confirmed.
This operation, led by the Bangladesh Army, is part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activity and ensure public safety in high-risk areas. Officials have assured that similar drives will continue to maintain law and order across the city.
