Police recovered the hanging bodies of two young men in separate incidents in Barisal on Thursday afternoon and evening.

The deceased were identified as Sohag Hossain, 23, from Barisal city and Rajib, 28, from West Koralia village in Hizla upazila.

Sohag Hossain, a battery-powered rickshaw driver, was found hanging in a garage in the Munshibari area of Barisal city.

According to officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman of Kotwali Model Police Station, Sohag had gone to the garage in the afternoon to charge his rickshaw. Later, others discovered him hanging and alerted the police.

The body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy. Initial investigations suggest that family disputes, possibly related to Sohag's drug addiction, may have led to the incident. "It appears to be a case of suicide due to family conflicts," said OC Mizanur Rahman.

In a separate case, Rajib, a farmer, was found hanging in an abandoned house in West Koralia village. His younger brother discovered the body in the evening after Rajib had been missing since midday.

OC Abul Kalam Azad of Hizla Police Station said that Rajib was struggling with debts and frequently had disputes with his family over financial issues. "We suspect he took his own life due to financial stress but the exact cause will be determined after the autopsy," the OC added.

Both bodies have been sent for autopsies, and police have stated that further action will be taken based on the findings.
