Dengue claims 3 more lives, 354 hospitalized in 24 hours

Three more people died of dengue while 354 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till Friday (November 28) morning.

"During the period, five dengue patients were hospitalised in Barisal division, 38 in Chittagong division, 46 in Dhaka division, 176 in Dhaka North and Dhaka South city corporations, 25 in Khulna, 41 in Rajshahi, 22 in Mymensingh, and one was admitted in Rangpur division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This year, the total number of cases rose to 90,794 while 485 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
