A fire broke out at a warehouse storing agricultural products in the BSCIC industrial area of Mymensingh Sadar upazila on Friday morning.
However, the blaze was brought under control after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.
The fire started around 10:45 AM and quickly spread to a nearby bakery. On information, ten firefighting units from several stations rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 12 PM, said Motiur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) in Mymensingh.
During the incident, personnel from the army, RAB, and police supported the fire service teams.
The fire may have been triggered by chemicals stored in the warehouse, which could have heated up and ignited spontaneously, added the fire officer.
