A helper of a bus was burned to death in a fire reportedly originating from a mosquito coil inside the vehicle at Sonadanga Bus Terminal in Khulna, said police on Friday.
The fatal incident occurred around 2 am on Thursday, said Md Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sonadanga police station.
The dead Md Shariful was the helper of Sundarban Paribahan and a resident of Munshiganj district, the OC informed, UNB reports.
Transport workers said Shariful fell asleep inside the bus after igniting the mosquito coal at night.
Later, the bus caught fire from the coil and it got completely burnt to ashes, they said.
Workers usually sleep inside the buses at night using mosquito coils and the incident of fire occurred several times, they informed.
