Human chains were formed in districts including Pirojpur, Rangamati and Narail on Thursday, protesting the murder of lawyer Md Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.
PIROJPUR: The killing of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif sparked protests in Pirojpur on Thursday with demands for exemplary punishment for those responsible. District Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Forum organized a protest rally that began on the District Lawyers' Association premises, paraded through the court area. During the rally, Advocate Abul Kalam Akon, president of the organization and public prosecutor (PP), along with Government Pleader (GP) Sayed Sabbir Ahmed and Advocate Nurul Islam Shahjahan, addressed the gathering.
RANGAMATI: District Bar Association formed a human chain and organized a protest rally in the town on Thursday, demanding trial for the murders of lawyer Md Saiful Islam Alif.
The programmes were held on the Rangamati Chief Judicial Magistrate Court premises. Senior lawyer of the district Advocate Moktar Ahmed addressed the function as the chief guest while PP Advocate Pratim Roy Pumpu, Assistant PP and District BNP GS Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun and Advocate Abdus Gaffar Munna, among others, also spoke.
NARAIL: A human chain was formed on the district judge court road in the town on Thursday, protesting the murder of lawyer Md Saiful Islam Alif. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF) in Narail organized the programme.
President of District BJAF Advocate Abdul Haque addressed the function as the chief guest.
