Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader thinks that the next general elections will not be acceptable without the participation of all political parties.
He made the remark while placing 19-point proposals of his party regarding the amendment to the constitution at a press conference at the Banani office of JaPa in the capital on Thursday (November 28).
Quader also proposed re-introduction of the caretaker government system in the next parliamentary elections.
"The caretaker government system must be restored. The Chief Adviser should not come from the judiciary, as this could compromise the independence and neutrality of the judiciary. Additionally, it could create an undesirable example of mixing politics and the executive with the judiciary," he said.
At the same time, he proposed repealing the 15th amendment to the constitution, not to make same person as the party chief and head of the government, and not to elect the same person as prime minister twice.
The JaPa Chairman said: "If the head of the government and the prime minister were two separate individuals, there might have been some balance in the Prime Minister's complete control over parliament. However, historically, this has never happened, and whenever there has been an opportunity, the party leader has assumed the position of prime minister."
