Youth commits suicide after family rejects love affair in B'baria

A young man allegedly took his own life by consuming poison after his romantic relationship was rejected by his partner's at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday afternoon. .

The deceased Md. Sagar Mia, was son of Mohammad Zakir Mia and locals confirmed that his death was related to his love affair.  

According to local sources, Sagar had been in a long-term relationship with a girl. When the girl's family discovered their affair, they disapproved and reportedly treated Sagar harshly. Unable to bear the rejection and humiliation, Sagar consumed pesticide while sitting near a under-construction building of Nabinagar North Government Primary School.  

He was rushed to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex by locals, where doctors referred him to Comilla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. But, Sagar passed away on the way to the hospital.  

Nabinagar Police Station officer-in-charge Abdur Razzak confirmed the incident, saying, "Upon receiving the news of Sagar Mia's death, police conducted a preliminary investigation at the site. The body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy." 

Legal proceedings related to the case are ongoing as authorities continue their investigation.
