Four found dead in four districts

Four people including a teenage girl and a minor child have been found dead in separate incidents in four districts - Bagerhat, Rajbari, Mymensingh and Barishal, in two days.

MORRELGANJ, BAGERHAT: Police recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl from a house in Morrelganj Upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Halima Aktar, 14, daughter of Rana Makubbar, a resident of Baroikhali Village in the upazila.

The deceased's paternal uncle Sujon Matabbar said that he found Halima hanging from a ceiling fan when he entered her room at around 10 am. He later informed the police.

On information, police recovered the body.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Morrelganj Police Station (PS) KM Saukat Hossain confirmed the incident.

RAJBARI: Police recovered the hanging body of a young man from a jack fruit tree near the railway station in Pangsha Upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rakibul Islam, 20, son of Raju Pramanik, hailed from Kushtia District.

Locals spotted his body early on Monday and informed the police. A written letter was found next to the body, which reads, 'I am responsible for my death.'

Eyewitness Khokon Sheikh said, "I saw something hanging in the tree while returning from morning prayers. I called someone from a nearby house, and we went to the scene with a light. We found a young man hanging by a rope around his neck. Later on, a railway worker came and took down the body."

Rakibul's uncle Badsha, said, "Rakibul had been living in Dhaka for some time. He had borrowed money from several people around the house, promising to give them jobs, but he was unable to fulfil those promises. He was in debt and may have taken his own life due to the pressure of his financial situation."

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Sub-Inspector of Pangsha Model PS Sazid confirmed the incident.

BHALUKA, MYMENSINGH: Police recovered the body of a young man from the side of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bhaluka Upazila of the district on Sunday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

It was known that pedestrians spotted the body of the youth lying beside the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Seed Store area of the upazila in the morning and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The body bore no injury marks.

Bhaluka PS OC (Investigation) Humayun Ahmed confirmed the incident, adding that the actual reason behind his death would be known after getting the autopsy report.

BARISHAL: Police recovered the body of a mentally-disables child from a ditch in Wazirpur Upazila of the district on Sunday after four days of missing.

The deceased was identified as Nishat, 8, son of Kamrul Islam of Fulbaria Upazila in Mymensingh District.

It was known that he lived in the house of his maternal grandfather late Azahar Munshi in Purba Mundupasha Village of Wazirpur Upazila.

The deceased's family sources said that Nishat had been missing from November 21. Later on, locals spotted his body floating in a ditch behind Shikarpur Government Degree College at around 8:30 am on Sunday.

Later on, police recovered the body and sent it to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Wazirpur Model PS OC (Investigation) Md Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed with the PS and investigation is going on in this regard.
