PHULBARI, KURIGRAM, Nov 24: A protest and human chain were organized by the students, teachers, and local people of Phulbari Upazila in the district on Sunday, demanding justice for the murder of a college student.
The protest took place at around 1:30 pm in front of Phulbari Degree College gate in the upazila town of the district, where participants demanded the immediate arrest and punishment for the perpetrators.
Hamidul, a third-year degree student of Phulbari Degree College and a resident of Dakshin Nagarajpur Village under Bhanga Mor Union in Phulbari Upazila of the district, was brutally killed on the night of November 4 last by a group of unidentified assailants disguised as the robbers.
After the human chain, a memorandum was also submitted to the Phulbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer and the officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station in the district.
Aminul Islam, principal of Phulbari Degree College, addressed the gathering along with Assistant Professor of the college Azad Hossain, lecturers Arabur Rahman and Zakaria Mia, and first-year degree student Sujon Mia.
