Clash erupts over Anti-Discrimination Student Movement committee in B'baria

At least 25 individuals were injured in a clash that broke out between two factions of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Brahmanbaria on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at the premises of Government Model Girls' High School in the municipal town where a meeting was being held.
Among the injured, two critically injured individuals are Burhan Uddin, 21, a student of Brahmanbaria City College and Faisal. Faisal has been admitted to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital while Burhan was transferred to Brahmanbaria Medical College for better treatment.

Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Mozzafar Hossain confirmed the incident.

According to sources, the clash erupted during a meeting organized under the directive of the central committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Students from the town and nearby upazilas had gathered at the venue. A dispute over committee formation led to heated arguments which escalated into physical altercations, resulting in the injuries of 20–25 individuals.

OC Mozzafar Hossain stated, "The clash occurred due to disagreements over committee formation. Two individuals sustained serious injuries. However, neither faction has filed a formal complaint with the police."
