SAFF Women's Championship 2024

BCB President presents cheque to skipper Sabina

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed had handed over the cheque of Taka 2,000,000 to the skipper of Bangladesh women's national football team Sabina Khatun on Wednesday like he previously announced. 

Bangladesh won the SAFF Women's Championship for the second time in a row, defeating hosts Nepal 2-1 in the Dashrath Rangashala in Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 30th. Following that, the BCB President offered a Taka 2,000,000 incentive for the SAFF winning footballers. 
Sabina was accompanied by team manager Mahmuda Akhter at the cheque handover ceremony on the day. Besides, BCB Director Fahim Sinha and Nazmul Abedin Fahim were present there.
 
After the cheque handover, Faruk Ahmed said, "You know that we have become the SAFF Champion. As a sport, Cricket and football are no different. We are very proud as Bangladeshis at this success. I'm even happier because of becoming champions twice. 

It's not a fluke at all. The women's team proved it again. Thanks again to them for making us proud. I hope that women's football will move forward under the leadership of the new president of the Bangladesh Football Federation."

Skipper Sabina Khatun said, "First of all, I would like to thank all the honorable directors of the Cricket board, especially the president of the board. Even after becoming SAFF champions last time, the cricket board came forward and stood by our side. They did the same this time. These things in the cricket board inspire us. The way everyone from all sectors motivates us, it is a pleasure for us."
