IGP, DMP Commissioner removed

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hassan have been removed from their respective positions.

Outgoing IGP Md Mainul Islam and outgoing DMP Commissioner Mainul Hassan have both been attached to the Police Headquarters.

It was stated in a circular signed by Md Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, deputy secretary of the Police-1 of the Public Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs. The circular was issued on Wednesday afternoon.

On the other hand, former Special Branch (SB) chief Baharul Alam has been appointed as the new IGP. Besides, Sheikh Sazzad Ali was appointed to the post of DMP Commissioner.
