Three Himalayan nations-Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh-have agreed to hold a ministerial-level meeting in January 2025 to address the risks of climate change in the region.

Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan made this announcement following a bilateral meeting with Nepal's Environment Minister, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, during the ongoing World Climate Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Monday.

While the location of the upcoming meeting remains undisclosed, Rizwana stated that the discussions will focus on mitigation, adaptation, and loss and damage caused by climate change. She also mentioned Nepal's interest in supplying additional hydropower to Bangladesh.
