In a coordinated effort to curb illegal activities, a joint operation led by the Bangladesh Army's 14 Independent Engineer Brigade resulted in the arrest of nine suspected drug peddlers from Dhaka's Korail slum on Monday.
According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out following a tip-off, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.
Authorities also seized heroin and a significant amount of cash believed to be linked to drug transactions during the raid.
The arrested individuals, along with the confiscated drugs and cash, were subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action.
ISPR stated that such joint operations, aimed at maintaining law and order and combating illegal drug trade, will continue as part of ongoing efforts to ensure community safety.
