Ex-MP Solaiman Salim arrested, sent to jail

 
Former Dhaka-7 lawmaker Solaiman Salim, also son of former lawmaker Haji Mohammad Salim, has been sent to jail in a case filed over the murder of Rakib Hawlader during the recent mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Zunaid passed the order on Thursday as police produced him before the court.
The court said the hearing on his bail plea and police's petition to place him on remand will be held after the main case documents reach the court.

Earlier, a team of Chawkbazar Police Station arrested Solaiman Salim from Gulshan in the city around 1:30am on Thursday.
