Daily Ittefaq photojournalist Naimur Rahman has been beaten and robbed of his camera, mobile phone and money by a group of men in Dhaka's Mohammadpur.

He says the incident occurred 'in public' around 10pm on Wednesday as he walked from the Mohammadpur Bus Stand area to the intersection,
Naimur said, "I finished my office work and was headed home to Bosila… Suddenly, four or five men blocked the road and then dragged me into an alley. Then, all of them beat me."
"One of them had a machete in their hand and they hit me with the back of the blade and the handle. At one point, they snatched my Nikon D-850 camera, a Samsung A13 model phone, and my wallet."

There were many people around, but no one came forward to help, he said.
