PIROJPUR, Nov 14: A life-term convicted person was arrested after 28 years of conviction on Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and offense) Md Mukit Hasan Khan confirmed the news through a press release.
The arrestee is Qudus Hawlader 56, son of Abdul Mannan Hawlader of Baniary Village at Mathibanga Union in Nazirpur Upazila of the district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdullah Al Mahmud Farid Bhuyan and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Heron of Nazirpur Police Station (PS) along with forces conducted a special drive and arrested him from Parchim Baniary Village in the evening.
OC Md Abdullah Al Mahmud Farid Bhuiyan said, in 1998, a court of Jhalalkati awarded life-term conviction in a case under woman and child abduction charges.
The accused has been produced before the court on the same day.
