Police recovered the body of a youth from his room at Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur district on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sujon Chowdhury, 30, Hangsalal Chowdhury, a resident of Kulanandapur village under Bulkipur union in the upazila.
Dulli Rani, the wife of the deceased, was arrested in connection with the incident.
Family members said that deceased's father went out for personal work at around 4:00am and saw his daughter-in-law standing near a bamboo bush. Suspecting that something might be wrong, he rushed to his son's room, where he found his son's body with a scarf wrapped around his neck.
On information, police recovered the body and brought it to the police station, said Nazmul Haque, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station.
"The youth might have died due to strangulation. We arrested the deceased's wife based on suspicion of her involvement in the death. The reason behind the death would be confirmed after the autopsy report," the OC added
