Two children die of poisoning in Jhalakathi

Two children died after consuming rat killing poison in Jhalakathi's Nalchhiti upazila.

They died on Wednesday (November 13) night at Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
The dead were Lamia Akter, 4, daughter of Kamal Howladar, and Ramzan Howlader, 3, son of Rana Howladar of Akharpara area under Kulkathi Union of the upazila. They are about cousins.

Ramzan's grandfather Amir Ali Howladar said the two were playing outside the house on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, they found medicines used to kill rats. At one point, they ate the medicine.

Later, family members came to know the matter and took them to the hospital. They later died while undergoing treatment there.

Nalchhiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam confirmed it.
