The hanging body of a young man was recovered on Wednesday afternoon from Buzruk area of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nur Alam, 22, son of Eban Hossain from Buzruk village in Vadasa Union.
Police have suggested the incident is a suicide case and an extramarital affair led to the incident.
Joypurhat Police Station officer-in-charge Shahed Al Mamun said that Nur had been out of contact with his family for the past two days. On Wednesday morning, locals discovered his body hanging from a tree in a nearby graveyard about half a kilometer from his home. Upon being informed, police recovered the body which has been sent to the 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Nur Alam's father, Eban Hossain, shared that his son had been in conflict with the family for some time and had not been in communication for the past two days.
OC Shahed Al Mamun added that initial findings suggest Nur Alam may have committed suicide over an affair. However, he noted that the final determination of whether it was suicide or foul play will be made after the autopsy report.
