Bangladesh received over $ 7 billion in remittances from expatriate workers in last three months, according to official data.
The total remittance inflow during this period amounted to $ 7.02 billion, a key achievement highlighted in a report on the interim government's activities.
The report, shared by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing Wednesday, also shows three-month milestone of the interim government.
In last three months, 222,821 Bangladeshi workers migrated and 4,426 of them under the Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL).
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has been actively supporting migrant workers and their families.
The government provided Tk 340 million in financial assistance to the families of migrant workers who died abroad, Tk 3,00,000 to each family.
Additionally, Tk 18.8 million was distributed to support injured or ailing workers for medical treatment.
The report also mentions that Tk 43.2 million was allocated to cover funeral and repatriation costs of deceased workers, while Tk 123.9 million was provided as insurance benefits to the families of workers who passed away. Educational assistance of nearly Tk 19.7 million was offered to the children of migrant workers to support their education.
