2 held with 28kg hemp in M'singh

Army personnel in a raid arrested two individuals along with 28 kilograms of hemp from Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh.

The team from Netrokona Army camp arrested Asiya Khatun and Chan Mia.

The operation took place late at night on Monday (November 11) under the leadership of Major Jisan, the deputy commander of the Netrokona Army camp. 

According to Major Jisan, acting on a tip-off, the army team raided Asiya Khatun's house in the West Para area of Moilakanda village and seized 28 kilograms of cannabis. During the raid, Asiya Khatun was arrested, followed by the detention of Chan Mia. 

The two were handed over to Netrokona Narcotics Control Department for further legal action. Authorities have vowed to take strict action against the suspects and continue the investigation to apprehend others involved in the drug trade, added the army official.
