FIFA President to join youth festival in January

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has accepted an invitation from Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus to attend the youth festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh in January. 

Infantino, along with numerous other global leaders and significant officials, met with the Chief Adviser on the sidelines of COP29 on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to a message received on Tuesday. 

Prof Yunus informed him about the festival and requested his assistance in inviting renowned women's football teams to Bangladesh. 

A fees ago, Bangladesh women's national football team returned home with its second consecutive trophy of the SAFF Women's Championship beating Nepal in the final. Then, the champion women requestd the Chief Adviser to invite some renowned women's team to Bangladesh or send them to play friendly matches with stronger opponents abroad. That's why the Chief Adviser was looking for the best possible opportunity to arrange that by discussing the matter with the Earth's football boss. 

Prof Yunus is currently on a four-day official visit to Baku to attend the global climate summit. The chief adviser arrived in Baku by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight around 5:15 pm local time yesterday (Monday). He will attend several COP29 sessions and speak at a number of events.
