The Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) on Monday got a new body with Mohiuddin Mujahid Mahi of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha as President and Mutaher Hussain of Daily Janakantha as General Secretary for 2024-25 session.
Chief Election Commissioner Riadul Karim announced the results at DUJA office in the afternoon.
Other office bearers of the nine-member executive body are: Vice President Md Moniruzzaman of New Nation, Joint-General Secretary Mahadi Hasan of Jugantor, Treasurer Md Shoaib Ahmed of Protidiner Bangladesh and jointly elected Office Secretaries Tausiful Islam of the Daily Observer and Md Jafor Ali of Kalbela.
However, Tausif will serve as Office Secretary for the first half of the one-year tenure while Jafor will be in charge for the last six months as both of them bagged the same number of votes.
Three executive members are - Md Manjur Hossain Mahi of Kaler Kantho, Rafiuzzaman Labib of Bhorer Kagoj and Liton Islam of Alokito Bangladesh.
Former DUJA General Secretary Saidur Rahman and former President Mahbub Roni were the Election Commissioners.
