Woman dies being hit by oil-laden lorry in Gaibandha

A woman was killed and three others were injured after being run over by a oil-laden lorry in Gaibandha's Gobindaganj on Monday.

The accident happened around 11:30 am at Sahebganj Bagda Farm on the Gobindganj-Ghoraghat road.
The dead Jharna Begum, 45, was a resident of Bagulagari Nayapara village under Gobindganj upazila.

Locals said a battery operated van was going towards Gobindganj with passengers from Bagda Bazar. On the way, the axle of the van broke when it reached Bagda Farm area. At that time, a oil-laden lorry ran over the van. The van passenger Jharna Begum died on the spot and three others were injured 

The injured were rescued and sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Gobindganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain confirmed it.
