Former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury has been placed on a three-day remand in a case filed with Raozan police station.
Chittagong Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam granted the remand on Monday.
According to case documents, on September 25, the police conducted a raid at Fazle Karim Chowdhury's residence and seized firearms, including a rifle, a locally made gun, a revolver, a shotgun, and seven rounds of ammunition.
Except for the rifle, all other arms were illegal. Following the incident, police filed a case under the Arms Act with the police station.
Besides, Fazle Karim has faced several other cases, including murder, abduction, extortion, attempted murder, and land grabbing with different police stations in Chittagong.
Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained Fazle Karim and two others at Abdullahpur near the Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria on September 12 while they were trying to cross the border illegally.
On September 19, Karim sent to Chittagong by helicopter and shown arrested in the cases.
