The students of Jagannath University (JnU) have blocked the intersection in front of the Education Ministry with a five-point demand, including the handover of the construction work for the second campus to the army.

Around two thousands students of the university brought out a procession from the campus and took position on the road in front of the Education Ministry at around 1:00pm.

At that time, the demonstrators were chanting various slogans.

The demands of the students are:

1. The project director appointed during the fascist regime must be brought under the law, and within seven days, the responsibility must be handed over to capable officers from the army.

2. The Ministry of Education must issue a clear outline saying that the work on the second campus of the university has been handed over to the army.

3. Immediate steps must be taken to acquire the remaining 11 acres of land, and all agreements made during the autocratic government's tenure regarding the old campus must be repealed.

4. Jagannath University must be included in the recently announced pilot project by the UGC.

5. The annual budget for the university must be allocated at least 500 crore taka.
