Mohammad Salahuddin, a highly respected coach in Bangladesh domestic cricket, was recently appointed as the Senior Assistant Coach of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team during the Bangladesh-Afghanistan series.
While the team is currently in the UAE, Salahuddin remains in Dhaka and already started working with national players who are not part of the ODI squad for the Afghanistan series. Speaking to the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday, he shared his thoughts on his new role.
"My feelings are quite neutral because this is my profession. Regardless of the team I'm with, my job is to give my all-110 percent," Salahuddin said. "As a professional coach, I'm committed to putting in my best effort wherever I work."
Previously, Salahuddin served as the fielding coach of the Bangladesh National cricket Team. Now, in his new role as assistant coach, he commented on his responsibilities. He said, "As the assistant coach, I'll be supporting the head coach. His philosophy resonates with me and I'm here to help him and support the players in any way I can. My role may be different than before."
"I'll focus on building the players' confidence and improving communication with the foreign coaches we have," he added.
In response to a question about his popularity, he said, "I'll strive to continue earning people's respect. Over the past few days, I've realized it's a moral responsibility to give back to those who support me."
