6 AL men held in Natore

Police arrested six Awami League leaders and activists on Saturday night in a case filed over an attack on BNP activists during an election rally before the 2018 national election at Singra upazila in Natore district.

The arrested people are Md Selim Reza Sentu, general secretary of Singra municipality Sramik League; Jubo League leader Md Abu Bakr Siddique; former BCL leader Rakibul Alam; Krishak League leader Md Shamsul Islam; Jubo League leader Md Mizanur Rahman; and AL activist Md Al Masum.
Asmaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, said that all the arrested men are accused in two cases filed in September over the incident in 2018.

They were produced before the court on Sunday, the OC added.
