DNCC cleaner dies in Dhaka road crash

A 60-year-old cleaner was killed when a bus hit him in front of Bongshal Police Station in Dhaka's Bongshal area on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Kalam, a cleaner of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and son of Taijat Ali.
Md Faruk, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp, said the accident occurred around 1:50 pm when a bus of 'Tanjil Paribahan' hit a van carrying Kalam, leaving him injured.

Later, police took him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead around 2:20 pm.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue, said Md Faruk.
