Secretary General of Hefajat-e-Islam Allama Shaikh Sajidur Rahman urged government to withdraw the cases filed against former religious affairs minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, also former lawmaker from Cumilla's Muradnagar, with executive order, so that he can return home from abroad.
At a Islamic conference held at Muradnagar Jamia Islamia Mujaffar Ulum Madrasa in Cumilla on Saturday, Allama Shaikh Sajidur Rahman said that the cases filed against Kaikobad during the fascist Awami League government's tenure are 'false' and 'baseless'.
"Kazi Kaikobad is an Islamic scholar, and he always kept relations with the Islamic scholars. He always loves the Islamic scholars, and Hefazat's former Ameer Allama Ahmed Shafi visited his madrasa responding to his invitation. The fabricated cases filed against him must be withdrawn," he added.
Among others, Hefazat-e-Islam Ameer Allama Muhibullah Babunagari, Khealafat Majlish Secretary General Allama Mamunul Haque, and Hefazat leader Gazi Md Eyakub Osmani also spoke at the event.
Mentioning Kaikobad's family as curator of Islam, Muhibullah Babunagari said, those people must get relieved from such false and fabricated cases. The government should withdraw the cases to protect the people's love and care the Islam.
Several thousands of Islamic devotees from different parts of the district joined the 133rd conference of the madrasa.
