Four names of five new advisers who are going to be sworn-in this (Sunday) evening.
They have been invited at Bangabhaban.
The newly-selected advisers are Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, businessman Sheikh Bashir Uddin, film-maker Mostofa Sarwar Faruqui and Chief Adviser's special assistant Mahfuz Alam.
They are scheduled to take oath at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban this evening. It is learnt that these four individuals were invited to be sworn-in as new advisers.
Professor Dr Sayedur Rahman was appointed as vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical Univeisty (BSMMU) on August 27 last. Now, he is being inducted to the advisory council from there. Dr Sayedur Rahman is a professor of the Department of Pharmacology of the BSMMU.
Sheikh Bashir Uddin is the managing director of Akij Group, one of the leading conglomerates of the country. He is the son of Sheikh Akij Uddin.
Mostofa Sarwar Faruqui is a renowned film director. He has been making films and dramas over the last several decades.
Besides, a source said former Inspector General of Police Khoda Baksh Chowdhury is likely to join the interim government as the special assistant to the chief adviser.
In the wake of the student-led movement, former prime minister Sheikh Hasina fled to neighbouring India on August 5. Later, the interim government, headed by Nobel laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, was sworn-in on August 8. The members of advisory council are now 21 including the chief adviser.
Under the first phase, 16 individuals were sworn-in. They were Finance Ministry's adviser Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed; Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs adviser Dr Asif Nazrul, Indistries Ministry adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, LGRD Ministry adviser AF Hasan Ariff, Foreign adviser M Touhid Hossain, Environment, Forest and Claimate Change Ministry adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Social Welfare Ministry's adviser Sharmin S Murshid, Textile and Jute Ministry's adviser M Sakhawat Hossain, Religious Affairs Ministry's adviser AFM Khalid Hossain, Fisheries and Livestock Ministry's adviser Farida Akhtar, Health Ministry's adviser Noor Jahan Begum, Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Ministry's adviser Md Nahid Islam, Youth, Sports and Labour and Manpower Ministries' adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Chittagong Hill Tracts Ministry's adviser Supradip Chakma, Primary and Mass Education Ministry's adviser Bidhan Ranjan Poddar and Liberation War Affair Ministry's adviser Faruque-e-Azam.
Under the second phase, four more advisers were also sworn-in. They are Planning Ministry's adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry's adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser attached to the Chief Adviser's Office Ali Imam Mazumder, and Home Affairs Ministry's adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
