Mehedi Hasan Babu, central co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was issued a show-cause notice for his alleged inappropriate behaviour with a female student.
This information was shared in a statement signed by Abdul Hannan Masud, the chief organiser of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, on Friday.
The notice reads: "Mehedi Hasan Babu, co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has been accused of engaging in inappropriate behaviour with a female student, which is contrary to the principles and values of the movement."
Following the incident, Mehedi was asked to explain why he should not be permanently expelled from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
He was given three working days to respond to the notice and defend himself.
It has been learnt that Mehedi is currently a student of Dhaka International University. In addition to his central role, he also serves as the coordinator of the July student movement for this university.
