Indian national dies after falling ill at Mirpur hotel

An Indian national died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) reportedly after falling sick at a hotel in Dhaka's Mirpur on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Akbar Ali Mondol, 38, from Murshidabad, West Bengal. He was part of a group of six friends who had arrived in Dhaka for a tour.
His friend Farjul Mondol said they checked into the hotel at 7 PM on Friday and shared a room.

Akbar reportedly screamed and fell unconscious in sleep and his friends immediately rushed him to Mirpur-2 Heart Foundation Hospital.

As his condition deteriorated he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 4:10 AM where doctors declared him dead.

The police outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital confirmed the death.
