Ex-UP chairman in Khulna held drug, lethal weapons

A former Union Parishad (UP) chairman in Khulna district was arrested with 170 pieces of contraband yaba tablets and lethal weapons on Friday night.

The arrestee was Bulbul Ahmed, former Sachiadah UP chairman under Terokhada upazila of the district.

An official press release of said that a team of joint forces comprising members Navy and Police conducted a raid at Sachiadah Bazar and arrested the listed drug peddler and former UP chairman Bulbul from a residence. 
They also seized 170 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, lock cutting machine, motorcycle, two mobile phones and local weapons after searching his residence.

Babul and the seized products were handed over to Terokhada Police Station. Two separate cases were filed against him with the police station in this connection, the release added.
