A Bangladeshi expatriate, who was injured in a road accident on October 29, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Makkah city, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Kamaruzzaman, 35, son of Ashraf Ali, a resident of Ennatali village under Borokul West union at Haziganj upazila in Chandpur district. He went to Saudi Arabia around two years ago to help his family financially.
Mahbub Hossain, the elder brother of the deceased, said that a vehicle hit Kamaruzzaman on October 29, while he was returning home after completing the Magrib prayer in Makkah, leaving him critically injured. Since then, he had been receiving treatment in a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night.
The chairman of Borokul West union parishad is seeking assistance from the government to return Kamaruzzaman's body to Bangladesh.
