A former inspector general of police (IGP) and a deputy secretary have been brought at Comilla Jail.
They were brought in Comilla Jail on Saturday (November 9), a reliable source of the jail confirmed it.
The prisoners were former IGP Shahidul Huq and former deputy secretary Kibria Mazumder.
Jail sources said they were brought at Comilla Jail gate by a prison van from the Dhaka Central Jail after some time of early afternoon amid stringent security measures. Then they were taken inside the Comilla Jail checking documents.
However, the sources could not confirm in which cases or why they were brought at Comilla Jail. The sources also said the security of the jail was strengthened.
Another source said they were scheduled to appear at a Comilla court in a case on Monday (November 11) next. Because of that, they were brought here.
In this regard, Comilla Jail's senior jail super Abdul Jalil said many accused are brought at and taken from Comilla Jail everyday. "I was at a meeting of the district administration today. Because of it, I can't say anything in this respect."
