The West Zone Coast Guard (BCG) of Mongla outpost arrested an alleged arms mechanic from Dakope upazila in Khulna district early Saturday.
The arrested man is Ismail Hossain, 24, son of Abdul Aziz of Daxinbag upazila in Gazipur district.
They also seized a pipe gun from his possession, Lieutenant Dewan Md Asif, officer of West Zone Coast Guard, confirmed.
On information, a BCG team conducted an operation at the early hours on Saturday in Tagore Bari Kheyaghat area under Dakope upazila, adjacent to the Sundarbans.
The law enforcers arrested Ismail after chasing while he was trying to flee from there. Later, they seized a country-made pipe gun from him.
Lieutenant Asif said two cases were filed against him with Rampal Police Station in Bagerhat.
The arrested will be taken to Dakop Police Station for taking legal action, he added.
