AL leader killed in Lalmonirhat road accident

An Awami Leader was killed after falling from a motorcycle at Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Friday afternoon.

The accident took place in Tetultala area under Kalbhairab Bazar at Dalgram union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Firoz Hossain Zihad, 55, a resident of Hatibandha upazila. He was the president of the Bhelaguri union Awami League.

It was learnt that he lost control of the steering and fell from the motorcycle while returning home from Rangpur, leaving him critically injured.

He was rescued and taken to upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

The body was handed over to the deceased's family members as they had no complaints, said Ershadul Islam, sub-inspector of Kaliganj Police Station.
