Two youths were killed and another injured in a road accident at Singair upazila of Manikganj district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Badhan, 18, son of Nur Hossain from Itora village in the upazila, and Ratul Hossain, 25, son of late Panku Miah from Garpara union in the district's sadar upazila.
Singair Police Station officer-in-charge Jahidul Islam confirmed the information.
Citing locals, the OC said that a speeding motorcycle, carrying three people collided head-on with a pickup van from the opposite direction. The motorcycle rider Badhan died on the spot. The other two riders, including Ratul, were critically injured and taken to Singair Health Complex, where Ratul was declared dead by the attending doctors.
Laden Hossain, from Itora village, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The bodies of the two deceased have been sent to the Manikganj District Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
