Three people including two teenagers allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in two districts - Tangail and Mymensingh, in two days.
DHANBARI, TANGAIL: A teenage boy reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Dhanbari Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the morning in Charpara Village under Beertara Union.
The deceased was identified as Shanto, 14, son of Milon Mia, a resident of the same village. He was an eighth grader of Kadamtali High School.
According to the deceased's family members, Shanto committed suicide at any time on Tuesday night. He might have taken the decision out off huff with his father.
On Wednesday morning, the family members discovered the hanging body and informed police.
MYMENSINGH: Two people reportedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Gouripur Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
A man, who attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room in the upazila, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) on Tuesday.
Deceased Chan Mia, 55, was a resident of Daulatpur Village under No. 2 Gouripur Union in the upazila.
The deceased's family sources said that Chan Mia had been suffering from mental instability for long. Recently, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his room in the house.
Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and took to the MMCH. Later on, he died at the MMCH on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the MMCH morgue for an autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gouripur Police Station (PS) Mirza Mazharul Anwar confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
Meanwhile, a teenage boy reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself.
The deceased was identified as Joy Sinha, 25, son of late Ratan Kumar Sinha, a resident of Kalipur Madhyam Taraf Kolabagan Moholla under Gouripur Municipality.
It was known that Joy attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself at around 11:30 pm on Monday.
Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and took him to Gouripur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared the teenager dead at early hours on Tuesday.
Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceased's family members without an autopsy as per his mother's request.
