282kg polythene seized in Pirojpur, 3 traders fined

A mobile court in Pirojpur's Kawkhali seized 282 kilograms of polythene and fined three traders a total of Tk 19,000 on Friday.

The operation, led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sudipta Debnath, was conducted on Friday morning.
The environmental enforcement drive was conducted with the assistance of Nikhil Chandra Dhali, Assistant Director of the Department of Environment in Pirojpur, along with members of law enforcement agencies.

Magistrate Sudipta Debnath stated that fines were imposed under the Environmental Conservation Act for the use and sale of banned polythene. 

The penalized traders are Shah Alam, who was fined Tk 15,000 while Shahadat Hossain, fined Tk 3,000, and Walid, fined Tk 1,000.
