The Land Ministry has cancelled the allotment of Khas land to Shurer Dhara, a musical school founded by eminent musician Rezwana Choudhury Bannya at Dhaka's Lalmatia.

A letter signed by Md Aminur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Khas Land-1 sub-section of the Ministry of Land, has requested the Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka to take appropriate actions on the matter and submit a report to the Ministry of Land.

This land had been approved for long-term allotment in favor of Bannya, chairperson and principal of Surar Dhara.

The land is situated in Ramchandrapur Mouza under Mohammadpur police station.

Reports surfaced that the land was illegally allocated by blocking the water flow of the Ramchandrapur canal in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.    —UNB
