Nat’l swimming competition begins Saturday

The 33rd National Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Competition 2024 will kick off at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur of Dhaka on Saturday.

The event, organised by the Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) and sponsored by Max Group, will end on November12.

Acting General Secretary of BSF Md Salim Mia shared the information at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) auditorium on Thursday.

The competition will also feature four other disciplines for male swimmers including three diving disciplines and a water polo discipline.
A total of 550 male and female swimmers from 52 teams from different services, divisional sports associations, district sports associations, clubs and BKSP will participate in 38 disciplines of the four-day meet.

The acting GS further said that they also have a plan to arrange an international competition next year if they can solve the scoreboard and gas issue.

Meanwhile, BSF last hosted an international event, the SA Games in 2010 in Dhaka.
