Teacher killed in Tangail road accident

A kindergarten teacher was killed and several others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Tangail on Thursday.

The accident happened around 9:30 am in Rasulpur area on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway.
The victim was Abdul Alim, 50, hailed from Rajapur Char area under Bhuapur Upazila in the district.

He used to live at Ghantandi Notun Para under Bhuapur Municipality and was the director of Probhati Kindergarten.

Locals said he was going to work in Bhuapur from Tangail by a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in the morning. On the way, when they reached in Rasulpur area, a Dhaka-bound truck ran over their auto-rickshaw. He died on the spot.

Tangail Medical College Hospital Police Box ASI Alamgir said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue. It will be handed over to the relatives after legal process.
