DSE ends mixed, CSE declines on profit booking

Stock markets on Wednesday finished the session flat as the major indices of the both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges showed no significant rise amid lower activities of large-cap securities.

The benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse closed the day with 17.93 points down at 5,347.08. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 0.01 point down at 1,967.75. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.99 point up at 1,192.57. 

Out of 399 issues traded, 281 closed lower, 85 advanced and 33 issues remained unchanged on the DSE floor.

ORIONPHARM topped the turnover chart, followed by BSC, ISLAMIBANK, PADMAOIIL and FEKDIL. 

ORIONPHARM was the day's top gainer, posting 9.83 percent gain while 1STPRIMFMF was the worst loser, losing 5.96 per cent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 2.69 points down at 14,879.24.

At CSE, 207 issues were traded. Of those, 80 closed higher and 104 closed lower when 2.37 million shares worth Taka 52.13 crore changed hands.    —BSS
